Job Title: Distribution Shift Manager

Annual Salary: £47,000

Shift Pattern: Any 5 from 7, predominantly 05:30AM start but will be expected to cover a later shift start time of 10:00AM for holiday / sickness cover (40 Hours PW)

Responsibilities
  • Lead and motivate driver colleagues along with a team of administrators on the day shift, supporting the Transport Manager.
  • Handle a wide range of HR-related tasks, maintaining a well-rounded approach to employment issues.
  • Ensure drivers take regular breaks to stay within the Working Time Directive.
  • Use local area knowledge to assist rerouting with support from planners when needed.
  • Resolve issues to maintain the company’s reliable reputation with internal and external customers.
  • Manage fleet and workforce accountability, ensuring cost alignment with budgetary requirements.
  • Lead by example to set and maintain standards in service, health, safety, and compliance.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of CPC management and a strong understanding of transport compliance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and resolve issues promptly.
  • Able to take accountability for fleet and workforce operations.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts and cover for holiday/sickness as required.
