We're seeking a Disrepair Paralegal to join our client’s in‑house legal team based in Liverpool on an 18‑month fixed‑term contract. You’ll manage housing disrepair cases through pre‑litigation and post‑litigation stages, supporting the wider Legal Services function and contributing to high‑quality, efficient legal outcomes.

Description

The Disrepair Paralegal will be:

  • Handling an active caseload of housing disrepair matters (pre‑ and post‑litigation)
  • Drafting witness statements, interlocutory applications and preparation of court bundles
  • Liaising with internal colleagues, client departments, opponent solicitors and counsel
  • Representing the organisation in court and tribunal hearings as required
  • Supporting the Legal Services team in ensuring compliance with legislation, identifying risks and implementing controls
  • Keeping up‑to‑date knowledge of housing law, regulation, guidance and organisational policies
  • Collaborating with internal teams to provide clear, timely advice and deliver seamless service to customers
  • Contributing to value for money, efficiency improvements and continuous process improvement
  • Adhering to Health & Safety, Equality & Diversity and company policies in all work
Profile

The Disrepair Paralegal should be:

  • A paralegal with demonstrable experience in housing disrepair cases
  • Educated to degree level or have equivalent relevant training/experience
  • Skilled at drafting legal documentation and working independently on caseloads
  • Experienced in liaison with internal stakeholders and external counsel/solicitors
  • Strong in legal research, risk‑identification and case progression with an eye for detail
Job Offer
  • Salary £30,000-£40,000 (depending on experience)
