Dispute Resolution Solicitor | 3–6 years’ PQE | Job Ref: 215302065

A well‑established firm in Tower Hamlets are seeking a Solicitor with 3–6 years’ PQE who has strong experience in property and commercial/civil litigation. Experience working with privately paying clients is essential. Owing to continued growth and increasing demand, the team is looking to appoint an additional solicitor to help support and expand the department. The successful candidate will manage a diverse caseload, acting for private individuals as well as small and medium‑size businesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing and progressing a varied litigation and dispute resolution caseload
  • Conducting casework efficiently and in a timely manner
  • Maintaining clear, consistent communication with clients and meeting client‑care standards
  • Keeping up to date with relevant legal developments
  • Ensuring accurate time‑recording, billing, and file management
  • Dealing with routine correspondence, negotiations, and advocacy where appropriate
  • Collaborating effectively with colleagues across the organisation
  • Providing sound legal analysis and advising clients on suitable courses of action
  • Completing administrative tasks to ensure smooth departmental operations
  • Supervising and supporting junior colleagues where required
Person Specification
Essential
  • Experience across a broad range of property litigation matters, including landlord possession, disrepair, tenancy disputes, lease extensions, service charge disputes, and breach of covenant cases
  • Experience handling commercial litigation, including contractual claims
  • 3–6 years’ post‑qualification experience
  • Advocacy experience in the County Court or Tribunal (beneficial but not essential)
  • Experience acting for privately funded clients, including individuals and SMEs
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse client base
  • Strong interest in business development and client relationship building
  • Confident telephone and oral communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload and perform effectively under pressure
  • Strong written communication and problem‑solving skills
  • Good IT proficiency and commercial awareness
  • Current practising certificate
Desirable
  • Knowledge of alternative funding arrangements, including CFAs and DBAs
  • Previous experience in marketing or networking activities
Terms of Employment
  • Hours: 35 per week (Monday–Friday, 9.30am–5.30pm)
  • Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
  • Holiday: 25 days’ annual leave plus one birthday day
  • Location: Primarily based in the Tower Hamlets area
  • Flexible working: Available
