Dispensing Optician Manager – Southampton

Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 DOE
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role

This is a superb opportunity for a GOC-registered Dispensing Optician to take on a management role within a respected independent practice. You’ll combine hands-on dispensing with leadership responsibilities, ensuring clinical excellence, great customer service and smooth day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate spectacle dispensing, lens advice, and adjustments.
• Support Optometrists with confident patient handovers and non-tolerance resolutions.
• Oversee staff performance, development and day-to-day branch operations.
• Manage stock, budgets, and reporting in line with business goals.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and compliance with GDPR and health & safety.
• Collaborate with marketing to support local promotions and community engagement.

About You

• Qualified and GOC-registered Dispensing Optician (Level 6 Diploma)
• Dispensing experience essential; previous management experience preferred
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Organised, adaptable, and confident in using IT systems
