Job description

Practice Manager (Dispensing Optician/Optical Assistant)

Independent practice in Finchley.

We are seeking a highly organised, confident, and self-motivated Practice Manager (ideally a Dispensing Optician Manager or experienced Optical Assistant Manager) to take ownership of the day-to-day running of the practice.

The Role

• Day-to-day management of the practice
• Acting as the front of house and face of the store
• Lone working required
• Supporting clinics 2 days per week (approx. 20 sight tests per week)
• Solo working on non-clinic days
• Setting up, improving, and maintaining practice systems and processes
• Supporting the Optometrist and owner with smooth clinical flow
• Helping rebuild and grow the practice following a quieter period

Systems & Operations

• HR and payroll already in place
• Current PMS is simple and easy to use (not a widely known system)
• Plans to move to Acuitas in the future
• Candidate must be comfortable adapting to systems and helping implement improvements

The Ideal Candidate

• Dispensing Optician Manager or experienced Optical Assistant Manager
• Proven experience running the day-to-day operations of an optical practice
• Confident, organised, and professional
• Comfortable with lone working
• Self-motivated with strong initiative and drive
• Enjoys building and developing a practice
• Independent practice experience preferred, but candidates from multiple practices are welcome
