A healthcare provider in Doncaster seeks a Dispensing Assistant to provide drug dispensing services, manage medication queries, and ensure efficient stock control. Applicants should possess an NVQ Level 2 in Dispensing Assistance or equivalent, along with experience in General Practice and Community Pharmacy. MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POSITION To provide drug dispensingservices to the practices dispensing patients at our dispensing sites, dealwith medication/ patient queries as per company policies.
-Dealing with dispensing patients
-Dealing with all medication/patient queries
-Follow stock management and procurment procedures
Approx. 15000 patient rural practice spread across 5 practice sites (4 of which dispense) located in the South of the Isle of Axholme
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Receive and process patientsrequests for authorised repeat prescriptions by computer printout and telephoneanswerphone.
2) Record the prescription on the patients computer record.
3)Dispense prescriptions generated by our clinicians within surgeries and repeatprescription for all dispensing patients.
4) To maintain a safe and cleanworking environment in the dispensary and raising any significant events withthe business manager.
5) To attend dispensary hatch and deal with patientsefficiently when collecting medication. - Deal with queries check computerrecords, etc. - Collect prescription charges. - Ensure patients sign the FP10.
6) Unpacking and reconciling the drug order from wholesalers.
7) To order stockand consumables as necessary from wholesalers and specialist suppliers usingwebsites, telephone and computer systems.
8) To maintain adequate stock controlefficiently following the companys stock check and dating procedures.
9) Dealwith patient prescription queries by telephone or in person from patients andtheir representatives including care home staff, following up where needed.Record any action on patients records.
10) Liaise with doctors with regard toany changes to drug stocks and dispensary practices and changes in workingsystems.
11) To undertake any other duties as necessary at our dispensingsites.
12) Attendance at practice team meetings to maintain communication andkeep up to date with any changes.
13) Maintain dispensing CPD by undertakingself-study/attendance at training events throughout the year.
14) Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures in relation to dispensing andother practice policies/procedures.
