A progressive medical practice in England is looking for an enthusiastic Dispenser to join their dedicated team. This full-time role involves dispensing medicines, maintaining accurate records, and engaging with patients. Candidates should have NVQ Level 2 in Dispensing and experience in a pharmacy or healthcare environment. Responsibilities include managing prescriptions, ensuring compliance with NHS standards, and providing excellent patient service. This position includes Saturday shifts on a rota basis.
We have an exciting opportunity to recruit an enthusiastic Dispenser to join our dedicated Dispensary team at Mowbray House Surgery.
This is a full-time roll to include Saturday working (1 in 4 on a rota basis, covering 8:30am - 12 noon).
You will assist to process all relevant prescriptions as authorised by GP's and prescribing nurses where appropriate, in accordance with the principle of good practice.
Projecting apositive and friendly image to dispensary patients and other visitors, dealing with queries in a professional, courteous and efficient way.
The successful candidate will be part of a large surgery dispensing team. Having excellent communication, organisational, teamworking skills.
Experience of general practice and Systmone would be an advantage, along with NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Pharmacy Services / Dispensing or relevant experience.
Mowbray House Surgery is a large, progressive medical practice based in Northallerton with a full time branch surgery in Hutton Rudby. Across both sites we have around 20,000 patients.

Job Responsibilities:
Dispense medicines and appliances following standard operatingprocedures. Whenever there is doubt about the appropriateness of the item, orabout the dose or labelling instructions to check with a GP.
Endorse prescriptions in accordance with NHS Prescription Servicesrequirements.
Keepup-to-date with new drugs / medicines and changes in legislation.
Completesignificant event forms and ensure colleagues complete significant event formscorrectly and in a timely manner.
Liaisewith patients, providing advice and guidance as required to promote compliance.
Promptly forward all invoices and dispensary relatedcorrespondence to the practice manager according to practice protocol.
Take prompt action in response to any drug alert bulletins thatmay be received from time to time.
Answerthe telephone promptly and deal with prescription requests.
Issueprepared prescriptions.
Operateefficient stock control appropriate to the needs of the dispensary with theobjective of ensuring continuity of supply for patients and minimising wastage.
Ensurethat drugs are received and stored in an appropriate manner in accordance withthe manufacturers instructions.
Ensurethat refrigerated items are stored at the appropriate temperature andmaintaining the temperature control record/logbook.
Cleanwork surfaces and shelving on a regular basis and ensuring that all dispensaryequipment is kept clean and kept in good working order.
Maintainfull and accurate records of all dispensing transactions.
Keeprecords of prescriptions sent to community pharmacies where required.
Checkfor and process email (online) prescription requests.
Collectall due prescription charges and ensure that the patient declaration on thereverse of the FP10 is dully filled in and signed by the patient or theirrepresentative.
Receivemonies on behalf of the Practice and keep a record of all the financialtransactions.
Providean efficient and caring home delivery service to patients where requested.
Maintainfull and accurate computerised records for all dispensing transactions.
