A rural GP practice is seeking a Dispensary Manager to oversee the in-house dispensary, manage staff, and ensure accurate dispensing of medications. The ideal candidate will have significant dispensary experience and strong management skills. Responsibilities include daily operations, financial management, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The position offers a part-time working schedule of up to 36 hours per week, ongoing training, and excellent employee benefits such as enhanced leave and onsite parking.
We are looking to recruit a fixed term, maternity cover Dispensary Manager to manage the in-house dispensary at our highly regarding rural GP practice for up to 36 hours per week.

To ensure effective financial control of the Dispensary while providing quick, efficient and accurate dispensing of medication to patients.
Responsible for:
Daily management of dispensary team, Commercial purchasing of drugs, monthly checking of drug tariffs, checking "MIMS", sort prescriptions, check endorsements, preparing and submitting prescriptions monthly to NHS Prescriptions services, management of controlled drugs, check colleagues dispensing, recording any near misses and significant events, develop and maintain standard operating instructions, complete dispensary service audits, ensure all aspects of DSQS are fulfilled and submitted in a timely manner, provide figures for VAT return, monitor and record all medication held in GP bags and keep in date, provide cover for member of the team during periods of sickness and holiday, ensure the Dispensary remains clean and tidy, oversee the training of trainee dispensers.

We have a strong clinical team of four HCAs, a phelbotomist, five Practice Nurses, five Nurse Prescribers, and seven GPs, who are supported by experienced administration, dispensary and management teams. One of our GP Partners is the Clinical Director of the local Primary Care Network.
Our small team of four dispensers work closely with one another and provide medication services to around 2,500 of our registered patients.
