Job summary

A police force in the UK is seeking motivated individuals to join as support to officers. You will be responsible for monitoring radio communications and ensuring officer welfare while deploying officers to incidents. Overview

Policing is not simply a job for police officers. It requires a large multi-disciplined team working together, making best use of skills and resources.

Responsibilities
  • Deploy officers to incidents and manage the incident summary queue with divisional supervision.
  • Monitor and manage the radio and provide ongoing backup and support to officers.
  • Monitor the welfare of all officers by responding to radio transmissions and carrying out periodic checks.
  • Carry out incident background checks using PNC and other GMP resources and inform operational officers of the findings and bail terms.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Good record of attendance over the last two years.
  • At least 18 years old and at least 3 years residency in the UK.
  • Experience working in a busy customer services environment.
  • Experience gathering comprehensive information and accurately recording it.
  • Experience working as part of a team to achieve a specific goal.

Successful candidates will be invited to attend an Assessment W/C 5th January 2026, 17:30 – 21:00. Attendance is mandatory.

Initial training: eight weeks, Monday to Friday (08:00‑16:00hrs), followed by mentoring on a 24/7 shift basis. No leave will be granted during the training period.

Salary and Allowances

Basic salary: £29,109 p/a, with shift allowance (20%) and weekend enhancement (14.90%). Shift allowances and weekend enhancements are not payable during the initial training period.

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
