The University of Salford’s Disability Inclusion Service is looking for a new Disability Inclusion Adviser! We are looking for a motivated, empathetic and adaptable individual to work with disabled students and recognise their support needs, developing Reasonable Adjustments Plans (RAPs) that meet students’ requirements and ensure they have fair and equitable access to their education.
Reporting to the Disability Inclusion Service managers, you will work to provide a high-quality and consistent specialist disability service to students. You will work with students with a wide range of disabilities and experiences, including (but not limited to) autism spectrum conditions, specific learning difficulties, physical, mental, and sensory disabilities, and health conditions. You will promote disability equality by raising awareness of the entitlements of disabled students and ensure continuous improvement of the experience of disabled students at the university.
The University of Salford’s Disability Inclusion Service is responsible for ensuring disabled students at the university receive appropriate support and reasonable adjustments to access their education. The service is currently made up of a team of 8 staff. We work closely with Academic Units and other Professional Services to ensure a holistic and joined-up approach to our support for students.
