Overview
Brighton College International (BCI) is seeking a Director of Studies to join the team, with effect from either April or September 2026. The role focuses on delivering high educational standards in Brighton College international schools, with particular responsibility for the Senior phase (Years 7 to 13). The Director of Studies will contribute to all areas of BCI's operations and report to the Chief Education Officer for BCI.
BCI is expanding internationally, with new schools planned in Madrid, Rome and Lisbon, and additional locations in major cities. This role is suitable for a current senior leader or an experienced middle leader who can demonstrate a track record of academic excellence and outstanding pastoral care. Experience with, or ability to develop knowledge of, the IB Diploma Programme would be advantageous.
BCI comprises a diverse team across education, marketing, admissions, finance, architecture and design. The Director of Studies will work closely with educationalists across age-phases and with senior school teaching colleagues to support operational and strategic needs. The role includes overseas travel to support development of the international schools and collaboration with colleagues.
BCI offices are located off-site to facilitate collaboration within the team and across the family of schools. Teaching members of the BCI team remain embedded within the school, delivering a small timetable and participating in the wider life of the College.
This opportunity represents a professional challenge for a proven secondary/senior education leader with energy and vision to contribute to our international schools. Candidates should share an aim of developing well-educated, respectful and curious young people prepared to take an active and positive role in the world.
