A cultural institution in Reading is seeking a Digital Content Producer to enhance its social media presence through compelling short-form video content. The role involves creating engaging videos for TikTok and Instagram, leveraging storytelling tied to the museums' rich heritage. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in video production and an understanding of internet culture, contributing to meaningful digital engagement in the community.

Are you a talented social media video producer with a passion for storytelling, culture and heritage? We’re looking for a Digital Content Producer to translate the viral social presence of The Museum of English Rural Life (The MERL) into short-form video, and to bring the rich history and iconic treasures of Reading Museum to life.
Working across both museums under the Arts Council-funded partnership, Museums Partnership Reading (MPR), you’ll lead on the development of our TikTok and Instagram content and play a key role within the partnership’s digital engagement.
You will have:
- An imaginative and thoughtful approach to identifying themes for content creation
- Strong knowledge of using video and audio equipment to create high-quality content
- Experience of producing social video with strong engagement
- Strong understanding of internet culture, with a demonstrable track record of creating engaging, impactful and appropriate video content that lands with its audience
- The ability to measure social media performance, produce reports for stakeholders, and use data to inform strategy
This role is fixed term until 31/03/2027
