Job description

We’re looking for a digital content officer to join our communications and marketing team in a role focused on producing high-quality online content. The role will involve creating and building multimedia content across multiple channels to showcase the latest breakthroughs and innovations being developed in universities around the world.

This role will report to our Communications Manager as part of our Comms and Marketing team, providing support to execute our new strategy and to review and upload content submitted to our platform by universities and research institutes worldwide.

Successful candidates will enter as early-stage employees within IN‑PART, with a view to progressing further when new opportunities arise. Welice see this role as a development opportunity to gain a well‑rounded outlook on digital content production and management, and as our company and network continues to grow we see the responsibilities and remit of our candidate expanding.

As a young company, we look for enterprising individuals with an engagement in research, science, innovation, and translating academic research into new technologies, products and services that generate positive impact for society, the environment and the economy.

Location: Our headquarters are in the Sheffield City Centre. Ideally, our candidate would be based in Sheffield, Leeds, Manchester, Derby, Lincoln, or the wider Yorkshire or North Midlands region (simply for the ease of commute). However, we are open to receiving applications from further afield. While the role will start remote, you will be expected to join our team in the office for part of the week when we re‑open as COVID restrictions ease.

Working hours: Full‑time

Start date: 1st February 2021

Salary: UK living wage, competitive depending on experience

Responsibilities
  • Proof‑reading, quality control and uploading content (research summaries) to our platform through a custom CMS
  • Formatting and designing blogs, case studies, and email campaigns
  • Formatting and designing reports, white papers, and other content
  • Optimising content for search (SEO) and user experience
  • Creating and scheduling content for our social media pipeline
  • Creating content for our blog
  • Sourcing images and creating basic visual content
  • Maintaining records in our CRM system
  • Website admin and housekeeping
Requirements

Our ideal candidate will have experience with digital content management and development. Given the nature of our work, a degree or equivalent नियंत्रण in a STEM or related subject is preferred but we are open to candidates with the right experience and interest. A keen eye for detail, and a feel for appropriate style, design, and communicating to the right audience are essential.

  • On‑page SEO
  • CRM systems
  • Social media writing, scheduling and image sourcing
  • Email marketing systems (MailChimp, SendGrid, or similar)
  • InDesign or other/similar document design software

  • Ability to work independently
  • Commitment to a shared approach to working and building ideas as part of a team
  • Self‑motivated, well‑organised and a keen eye for detail
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills-processing
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills
  • Administrative experience working with computerised records
  • IT literacy in Microsoft Office and Google Apps (or similar)
  • Knowledge of task management software, analytics packages, and Adobe programs
  • Keen interest in scientific research, innovation and commercialisation
