Job Summary

We have an excellent opportunity for a dietitian to join our friendly team of 19 dietitians and assistants working within the acute hospital setting. The Advanced Clinical Lead Dietitian for Gastroenterology works as part of the gastro dietetic team consisting of a full‑time band 6 dietitian and part‑time band 7. The team provides the service to the inpatient gastro ward with strong links to the wider MDT and also provides the service to specialist gastroenterology outpatient clinics. As the lead you will be involved in service development, have opportunities to be involved in quality improvement initiatives and research and exhibit strong team working skills.

Main Duties
  • Contribute to the inpatient gastroenterology service including the management of complex enteral and parenteral feeds
  • Undertake a weekly specialist dietitian‑led outpatient clinic
  • Attend ward rounds and MDT meetings as required
  • Have expert knowledge in the management of patients with gastrointestinal disorders and diagnoses
  • Attend meetings to represent the dietetic service at a strategic level
  • Contribute to the training of student dietitians, doctors and ward team
  • Provide professional support to the junior dietitians
