A UK healthcare provider in Westminster is seeking a Clinical Fellow for a FY2 equivalent post focusing on endocrinology and diabetes management. This 4-month role may extend to 12 months and includes daily clinical duties and training alongside experienced staff. Ideal for those looking to enhance their Foundation training and gain specialized skills. Applications from those seeking flexible working arrangements are encouraged.
This is a stand‑alone FY2 equivalent post created because of an unexpected FY2 rotational vacancy. It is particularly suitable for a doctor seeking to complete their Foundation training and facilitate the achievements required for a CREST form to enter Core Training in Medicine or for those seeking further experience in Endocrinology & Diabetes Mellitus. The role is 4 months long with the possibility of extension to 8 or 12 months. It is based on the Endocrinology & Diabetes Inpatient Ward and includes speciality outpatient clinics. The post may close early if sufficient applications are received.
Your training will mirror that given to doctors in formal training programmes. You will be allocated a Consultant Supervisor to support your career development. Previous clinical fellows have progressed to training across a spectrum of programmes, including IMT and GP training.
Daily hours are 0900 – 1700 with no on‑calls.
The post is based in a 25‑bed ward on the 5th floor, shared equally between the Endocrinology & Diabetes and the Gastroenterology teams. The ward is staffed by 1 Consultant, 1 Registrar, 2 FY1s, and 1 GP trainee with daily senior ward rounds. Wider team staffing includes highly trained nursing, nursing assistants, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, diabetes and endocrinology specialist nursing, podiatry, tissue viability, MDT team, pharmacy and a full complement of support staff.
Whittington Health is committed to safeguarding all children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We welcome applications from people wishing to job share or work flexible patterns and are committed to equal opportunities.
