A leading technology firm is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer in the UK to enhance security across automation-hosted services. This contract role requires assessing security infrastructures, conducting security analyses, and producing process documentation. The ideal candidate has strong DevSecOps expertise and hands-on experience with Kubernetes and automation services. This position allows for a hybrid work environment with three days onsite.

DevSecOps Engineer (Contract)

Rate: £500 - £550

Duration: 6 months - Inside IR35

Location: 3 days onsite in Sheffield, Birmingham, or Edinburgh

We are seeking an experienced DevSecOps Engineer to support automation-hosted services teams in strengthening their security posture. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in DevSecOps environments, who can provide both assessment and guidance without being directly responsible for remediation delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess security infrastructure across automation services, including cloud workstreams, Kubernetes, and on-premises environments.
  • Conduct in-depth security analyses to map the current security estate.
  • Create and plan remediation work processes (implementation will be handled by delivery teams).
  • Produce clear process documentation to support remediation activities.
  • Act as a subject matter expert within DevSecOps, providing insight and recommendations.
Skills & Experience
  • Strong expertise in DevSecOps practices within complex technology environments.
  • Hands-on experience with automation services, Kubernetes, and/or hybrid on-prem/cloud infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to conduct security analysis, gap assessments, and threat modelling.
  • Excellent documentation and process design skills.
  • Comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and technical teams.
