A leading recruitment firm based in the UK is looking for a mid-level DevOps engineer to contribute to a transformation project. This role involves migrating from legacy systems to a microservices-driven architecture, collaborating with a long-standing engineering team, and discussing tech directions. The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of AWS and experience in CI/CD practices. This opportunity offers a competitive salary starting at £80k plus benefits, with hybrid work arrangements in Central London.
We are currently looking for a mid-level DevOps engineer to step into a specialised website business going through a major period of transformation, moving away from legacy infrastructure, reshaping their DevOps function, and migrating into a modern, microservices-driven architecture.
You’d be joining a collaborative and long-standing engineering team (some Day 1 employees still on board), working closely with the Head of Engineering and a handful of experienced engineers. There’s genuine buy-in from the top to level-up infrastructure and DevOps maturity, and room to shape best practice and culture from day one.
AWS-first mindset – with deep knowledge of core services (EC2, ECS, RDS, etc.)
IAC – CloudFormation and Terraform preferrably
CI / CD experience (they’re using GitHub Actions, Ansible, and increasingly Terraform for automation)
Experience supporting legacy systems, with an interest in helping migrate towards microservices
Familiarity with monitoring, security, and deployment automation – all seen as equally critical pillars of the role
Encouraged debate and discussion on tech direction – digitalisation is a key theme
Open-minded on background – whether you’re coming from a dev-heavy or ops-heavy path, they value engineers who’ve contributed meaningfully to team projects and want to leave a positive footprint.
If you’re a DevOps Engineer looking to get in early and grow with a business that’s serious about evolution, this could be the one.
