Desktop Engineer – Contract

We are working with a leading global organisation within the financial services sector to recruit an experienced Desktop Engineer for an on‑site contract role based in London.

This position is hands‑on and user‑facing, providing high‑quality deskside and walk‑up IT support in a fast‑paced corporate environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide first and second line desktop support for Windows 10 and Windows 11
  • Deliver deskside and walk‑up support via IT support desks or tech bars
  • Support laptops, mobile phones, iPads, peripherals, and meeting room technology
  • Log, track, and resolve incidents and service requests using an ITSM tool such as ServiceNow
  • Support onboarding and off‑boarding, including device setup and user inductions
  • Perform hardware and software troubleshooting and escalate issues when required
  • Maintain build rooms, stock rooms, and assist with device decommissioning
  • Support desk moves, equipment refreshes, and floor support when required
  • Collaborate with wider IT teams to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Provide occasional out‑of‑hours or weekend support when required
