A regional police force in York seeks a Designated Identification Officer. Contract: Permanent | Full time
Hours: Monday – Thursday 8.30am – 5pm and Friday 8.30am – 4.30pm
Hours occasionally requires work outside office hours and participation in an on‑call rota
Salary: £27,204 - £32,613 (NYP Scale 4/5)

We’re looking for aDesignated Identification Officer to join our team at North Yorkshire Police. In this specialist role, you’ll be at the heart of the justice process by compiling identification procedures and facilitating the viewing of them to confirm whether a suspect has been correctly identified by witnesses or victims.

And it’s not a static position: once you have built your expertise, you’ll support the delivery of training, recognise opportunities to strengthen our service offering where needed, and work seamlessly with your Custody peers by contributing and adding value to our wider Custody administration processes.
Please note: The role occasionally requires travel, so you must hold a full UK manual driving licence.
Previous experience in identification procedures is desirable but not essential – we’ll provide full training for the right candidate.
