Start Date: January 2026

We are looking for an inspiring and innovative Design and Technology Teacher to join a forward-thinking secondary school in Durham from January 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated educator to engage students across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping them develop hands‑on skills, creative thinking, and a passion for design and innovation.

Role Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Design and Technology lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
  • Teach across KS3 and KS4, with specialisms welcomed in areas such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, or Engineering.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment where every student feels supported.
  • Differentiate lessons effectively to meet a range of learning needs, including students requiring additional support.
  • Assess, track, and report on pupil progress, offering constructive feedback to promote achievement.
  • Prepare learners for internal assessments and external examinations, including practical work and GCSE coursework.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, resource creation, and continuous departmental improvement.
  • Support extracurricular clubs or enrichment activities related to Design and Technology when possible.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Design and Technology at KS3-KS4 level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for creativity and innovation.
