Design and Technology Teacher – Secondary (Middlesbrough)
Location: Middlesbrough
Contract: Full-time / Part-time / Supply / Long-term
Start Date: ASAP

Protocol Education is working with secondary schools across Middlesbrough to recruit a Design and Technology Teacher to deliver engaging and practical lessons across KS3 and KS4. This role is suitable for QTS-qualified teachers, ECTs, and experienced cover supervisors or teaching assistants with strong Design and Technology subject knowledge.

The Role:
  • Deliver engaging and well-structured Design and Technology lessons, including practical workshop-based and theory learning.
  • Teach areas such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, or Engineering (specialisms welcomed).
  • Provide effective classroom cover when required.
  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all students.
  • Maintain strong behaviour management and a safe, positive learning environment.
  • Support students in developing creativity, problem-solving, and practical design skills.
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Holds QTS or has relevant classroom experience in Design and Technology (teachers, cover supervisors, or TA cover).
  • Confident teaching Design and Technology across KS3–KS4 (KS5 experience desirable but not essential).
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for hands‑on, creative learning.
  • Reliable, adaptable, and proactive.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply).
