About Us

Little Herons Nursery is located at West Monkton CofE Primary School, their philosophy is to provide a continuous, free-flow provision where every child is unique, where they feel safe and secure, whilst becoming confident, self-motivated, independent learners through play.

Job overview

You’ll provide leadership and management of the Nursery, effectively managing day-to-day operations whilst ensuring the highest standards of care and education are delivered by supporting staff with the strategic implementation, planning, and monitoring of Nursery provision and policies. Please see attached full job description. Please note, there may be some SENDCo responsibilities required within the role, training can be provided if necessary.

Key Requirements
  • A Highly motivated, NVQ Level 3 qualified deputy nursery manager
  • Experience of room management within a nursery or Early Years setting, including staff management and staff to child ratios
  • Extensive knowledge of EYFS practice, including statutory requirements, safeguarding and SEN inclusion
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a Stimulating, high quality and innovative early years learning experience
  • The ability to deliver high quality childcare in a safe and caring environment
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Able to liaise with parents, other professionals and outside agencies
  • The capability to assist the Nursery Manager and manage the room when they are not present
  • Experience managing and coordinating support for SEND children, ensuring suitable strategies are in place for each unique SEND child

Salary : Grade 13, point 8

Hours : 30 hours a week, 52 week contract.
