Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is looking for a dedicated Deputy Manager to support the daily operations of an Ofsted-regulated children’s home in Kegworth. The ideal candidate will assist in providing high-quality care, ensuring compliance with regulations while promoting positive outcomes for children. Applicants should have NVQ Level 5 in Leadership for Health and Social Care and at least 3 years of experience in a residential care setting.

Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to support the daily operations of our Ofsted-regulated children s home. The Deputy Manager will assist the Registered Manager in providing high-quality care, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, and promoting positive outcomes for children in our care.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Registered Manager in the leadership and management of the home.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, staff supervision, and scheduling.
  • Ensure all care plans, risk assessments, and records are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with Ofsted and regulatory standards.
  • Provide guidance, mentoring, and training to care staff to maintain high standards of practice.
  • Monitor and report on children s progress, wellbeing, and safeguarding concerns.
  • Foster a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children.
  • Participate in staff recruitment, appraisals, and performance management.
  • Ensure the home operates within budgetary and organisational policies.
  • Support the Registered Manager during inspections and audits.
Requirements
  • NVQ Level 5 in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a residential children s care setting
