Job summary

A supportive charity organization is seeking a Deputy Manager to assist the Registered Manager in providing high-quality support for adults with autism in Crewkerne. The role involves guiding and mentoring staff, maintaining care plans, and ensuring the service operates within budget. We are seeking a Deputy Manager to work alongside our Registered Manager supporting both our team and the people we support in Crewkerne.

Our team is proud to deliver specialist adult services that empower and support people with autism always striving to create the best possible outcomes for the incredible individuals in our care.

A day in the life of a Deputy Manager includes :
  • Providing support guidance and mentoring to staff within the service whether that be with supervisions 1-2-1 or weekly team briefings
  • Onboarding new starters to ensure they understand the role and are equipped to deliver high quality support
  • Working alongside colleagues on a two-week rotating rota including weekends
  • Ensuring we have efficient rotas in place to suit the needs of the people we support
  • Maintaining care and support plans are consistent and up to date
  • Ensuring the service operates to budget
  • Setting objectives which are clear aspirational and achievable for our colleagues and people we support
  • Provide on call support to colleagues on a rota basis
  • Ensuring the home is maintained and liaising with our health and safety and maintenance teams where appropriate

  • NVQ level 3 in social care / management (preferred)
  • Autism qualification (preferred)
  • Reliability and commitment to delivering best practice
  • An understanding and previous experience with CQC
  • Excellent organisational interpersonal and report writing skills
  • A readiness to work un-social hours on a rota basis including evenings weekends and sleep-in duties in line with service requirements
  • Experience with autism and behaviour that challenges
