Job summary

A residential care provider in Chadderton is looking for a Deputy Manager to oversee the staff rota and ensure a nurturing environment for children. This role requires a Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People's Workforce, alongside experience in residential child care. Qualifications

  • Experience as a Deputy or Assistant Manager or Senior Residential Support Worker in the Residential Child Care sector.
  • Fluent in English with good communication skills.
  • Understanding of safeguarding children and related legislation.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for staff rota including own shifts.
  • Promote nurturing environment for children and young people.
  • Support the Registered Manager in service expansion and development.

Overview

Hours: 48 hours per week. Note that the Deputy Manager is responsible for the staff rota, including their own shifts. Sleeps may be required and will be paid in addition. Weekends may also be required; this is dependent on staffing levels. Growth Plans: Expanding their services to support more children and young people both with Children EBD and LD Residential and Care leaver services.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Qualifications: Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People\'s Workforce or equivalent
  • Experience: Previous role as a Deputy or Assistant Manager or Senior Residential Support Worker in the Residential Child Care sector
  • Fluent in English: Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Other Skills: IT proficient and the desire to learn new skills
  • Understanding of: Safeguarding children, legislation relating to residential childcare, and confidence in supervising care teams
