Overview

An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced and driven hospital pharmacist to join the Pharmacy team at University Hospitals Dorset as our Deputy Lead for Medicine, specialising in Respiratory, Gastroenterology and Renal.

This role is offered as a job share. Full‑time and part‑time working hours will be considered.

Responsibilities
  • Provide a clinical pharmacy service to patients across the specialty.
  • Work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure maximum efficacy, safety and value for money of drug therapy.
  • Demonstrate professional accountability in enhancing patient care.
  • Lead and shape the future of the Pharmacy clinical services, including staff development and training.
  • Work weekend shifts (once in five, Saturday or Sunday) and approximately one bank holiday shift per year; rota includes weekend daytime and weekday late‑night service.
Qualifications

• Highly experienced hospital pharmacist with strong clinical skills and leadership experience.

• Demonstrated ability to deliver patient‑focused medicine optimisation and to use electronic prescribing and medication administration systems (EPMA).

Other Information

Recruiting managers will be happy to answer any specific questions at interview. If the role or service relocates as part of a planned move, employees will not be eligible for excess mileage reimbursement; travel will be considered a normal commute.
