Set within a tranquil estate in Battle, our school provides a specialised learning environment for pupils with complex needs, including SEMH, communication and interaction difficulties, and cognition challenges. As a core member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will drive the academic and emotional standards of the school:
Teaching and Learning: Lead the delivery of high-quality, differentiated instruction, ensuring the curriculum meets the diverse needs of SEND students.
Curriculum Leadership: Oversee whole‑school organisation and strategy, with a particular focus on guiding staff in Science, Maths, and the wider curriculum for Key Stages 3 and 4.
Assessment and Progress: Monitor, record, and report on pupil achievement and coordinate arrangements for external examinations.
Therapeutic Support: Utilise your expertise to embed a therapeutic approach to behaviour management and emotional well‑being across the school.
Operational Strategy: Contribute to the implementation and evaluation of school policies and collaborate with the wider educational community to share best practices.
Staff Management: Foster a culture of continuous improvement, flexibility, and cooperation among the staff team.
The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong background in specialist education leadership:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
Proven experience working with vulnerable children with SEND and SEMH needs.
Substantial experience in delivering a high-quality curriculum at Key Stage 3 and 4.
Previous experience in a senior or middle leadership role.
A compassionate, proactive, and adaptable leadership style.
Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with parents, staff, and external professionals.
Salary: Up to £46,790.02.
Contract: Full-time, Term-time only.
