About the Role

Being a Deputy General Manager with us is about learning every aspect of running a great pub while supporting the General Manager to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

You’ll play a key role in leading the team, supporting daily operations, and developing the skills and confidence needed to step into a General Manager role in the future.

This is a hands‑on, people‑focused role where no two days are the same and every shift is a chance to learn and grow.

Deputy General Manager Responsibilities
  • Support the General Manager in the day-to-day running of the pub
  • Lead shifts with confidence, setting standards for service, food, and hospitality
  • Coach, train, and develop team members to be their best
  • Support stock control, ordering, and wastage management
  • Help deliver labour plans and rotas in line with business needs
  • Play an active role in health & safety and licensing compliance
  • Build strong relationships with guests and the local community
  • Step up to run the business in the General Manager’s absence
What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone with the right attitude, ambition, and desire to progress :

  • Previous experience in a Deputy Manager, Assistant Manager, or similar leadership role within hospitality
  • A genuine passion for great food, drink, and guest service
  • A people‑first mindset with the confidence to lead and inspire teams
  • Organised, proactive, and keen to learn the commercial side of the business
  • Flexible to work up to 48 hours per week , including evenings, weekends, and bank holidaysRight to Work in the UK
  • A strong work ethic and positive, can‑do attitude
