An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Charge Nurse within our Outpatient Departments based at both Crosshouse and Ayrshire Central Hospitals.
As part of the multidisciplinary team the post holder will deliver a high standard of nursing care, supporting the delivery of Outpatients services between both Crosshouse and Ayrshire central Hospitals.
The post holder will assist the Senior Charge Nurse in the effective and efficient management of the service, nursing resources and supply budget, ensuring resources are efficiently utilised. You will also act as shift leader on a regular basis.
The post holder will be required to participate in the rolling audit and quality assurance programmes, contribute to teaching of staff and supervision of student nurses. Also assisting the Senior Charge Nurse in ensuring all staff have an annual review of performance and a personal development plan.
As a deputy Charge Nurse within the Outpatients Department you should be RGN registered with the NMC, have evidence of continuous professional development and have band 5 staff nurse experience within an Outpatient Department.
The post holder will be a motivated, organised individual with excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to the department and a desire to develop their leadership and managerial skills.
You will lead by example and act as a positive role model for all staff, promoting team working while managing day to day Outpatient provision to ensure high quality safe person centred care is delivered to the people of Ayrshire and Arran.
The post holder should have a working knowledge of basic information technology.

This is a 37 hours per week post, offered on a permanent basis. Shifts include day shifts, short shifts, 12 hour shifts and may include weekends (this is determined by clinical activity).
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential to this role.
