Overview

Berkshire Community Dental Service (CDS) is looking for a dental officer to join their proactive, enthusiastic, and innovative workforce with a great team spirit. We are a patient-focused dental team, dedicated to high quality oral care for people with a wide range of additional needs. The service has 7 clinics ranging from Newbury to Langley and over 40 staff treating patients with additional needs including children, people with learning and physical disabilities and the elderly. You will be based at Whitley Community Dental Clinic but may also work at other clinics and in the domiciliary setting. It is essential that you can drive, have a UK driving licence and a car for travel between clinics and hospitals. Professional development and training are encouraged.

Responsibilities
  • You will provide clinical care to people with additional or special care needs such as:
  • People with Learning Disabilities
  • Medically compromised and physically disabled adults
  • Frail Older People
  • Adults with severe mental health problems
  • Adults with challenging behaviour, anxiety or dental phobia
  • Adults in secure units and prisons
  • You may treat patients under sedation and general anaesthetic
  • You will be responsible for some areas of clinical governance, training, management and supervision
  • Applications for this role will be considered on a first come first served basis and we may close the vacancy early if the right candidate is found.
Location and Hours

Based at Whitley Community Dental Clinic; may work at other clinics and in domiciliary settings. Part-time applicants will be considered, but the role must be fulfilled over a minimum of 3 days (22.5 hours) up to 5 days (37.5 hours).

Salary and Benefits

Salary: Band A £52,532 - £78,798 (pro rata if less than full-time).
