Position: Full-time Dental Nurse

We are hiring a dental nurse at Staffa Lodge Smile Clinic, a busy mixed NHS/private practice set in Ipswich. This is an exciting opportunity for a bright, enthusiastic dental nurse to join our successful team. We are looking for an experienced nurse, who has motivation, excellent organisational skills, works well under pressure to lead a small team. You will help with preparing patients, sterilising instruments and setting up surgeries, whilst working alongside fantastic General and Specialist dentists. To do well in this role, you should be able to provide a great level of patient care.

Hours: 40 hours/week

Mondays - Saturdays.

Dental Nurse Responsibilities
  • Preparing patients for dental work.
  • Helping with infection control by sterilising and disinfecting instruments, setting up instrument trays, preparing materials, and assisting with dental procedures.
  • Assisting dentists in managing medical and dental emergencies when necessary.
  • Assisting dental hygienists with procedures when necessary.
  • Providing great patient care.
  • Recording treatment information in patient records.
  • Giving patients information on dental hygiene, oral health care, and plaque control programs.
  • Collecting and recording medical and dental histories and patient vital signs.
  • Providing postoperative instructions as directed by the dentist.
  • Caring for dental equipment.
  • Ordering dental supplies and maintaining dental equipment inventory.
  • Be able to carry out (or willing to receive training in) taking alginate impressions, ITero scanning patients and taking radiographs.
Dental Nurse Requirements
  • Certification or associate degree in an accredited dental nurse program and GDC registered
  • Or enrolled on a certified dental training programme
  • Experience using computers for a variety of tasks, including dental software.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Consistently professional appearance and attitude.
  • Able to provide great patient care.
