My client is investing over £1bn into heat network projects across the UK, delivering large-scale schemes for towns, cities, and communities. With flagship developments already underway, they are leading the charge in low-carbon infrastructure and are now looking for two Project Development Managers, one focusing on the densification phase of projects already in construction or operation.

As Project Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving the expansion of existing heat networks, ensuring they reach their full technical and commercial potential. You will assess opportunities, develop techno-economic models, manage commercial and technical considerations, and engage with stakeholders from contractors and consultants to local authorities and clients. Supported by senior leadership but given the autonomy to make a real impact, this is a role for someone looking to combine technical expertise with innovative problem-solving.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic, forward-thinking team where you\'ll benefit from structured training, professional development, and the chance to shape the UK's energy future.

The Person
  • Degree-level qualification (engineering or related discipline) with 2-5 years\' experience in energy, utilities, or infrastructure
  • Strong Excel/commercial modelling skills with the ability to test project viability
  • Organised, self-motivated, and confident in communicating with stakeholders at all levels
  • Able to interpret and condense technical, contractual, and commercial information into clear outputs
  • A genuine interest in low-carbon energy and the decarbonisation of UK heat supply
The Role
  • Lead the densification and expansion of existing low-carbon heat networks
  • Carry out techno-economic modelling, high-level heat mapping, and master planning using GIS tools
  • Manage commercial and technical assessments, identifying risks and opportunities for growth
  • Liaise with clients, local authorities, engineers, contractors, and suppliers to progress projects
  • Support project proposals, feasibility studies, and bids to move opportunities to contract stage
