Job summary

An independent conference producer in the Energy sector is seeking a Delegate Sales Executive. The ideal candidate will have a 2:1 degree or higher and 1-2 years of experience in high-intensity sales environments. Responsibilities include planning sales strategies, managing client relations, and achieving sales targets. The role requires strong analytical and creative thinking, problem-solving skills, and a positive attitude. This position is a great opportunity to develop sales skills within a dynamic team.

  • Make a minimum of 100 calls daily to achieve delegate targets.

Our client is an independent conference producer, specialised in the Energy sector. They create, promote and deliver high quality technical conferences for the engineering community.

They are searching for a highly skilled, enthusiastic, and energetic Delegate Sales Executive to work with our Head of Sales to drive delegate revenues across our portfolio of 20 events. This individual will have a proven track record in exceeding sales targets, the motivation to continuously develop their skill‑set and mindset and improve their performance, and the self‑mastery and leadership qualities to be a mentor and role model for others.

Main Responsibilities
  • Planning - translating the delegate sales briefing into a commercially impactful sales plan and script, that conveys the conference value proposition with impact and engages prospect interest with immediacy
  • Account management - exploring existing delegate relationships to understand their changing business needs and enrol them and colleagues onto new conferences and training programmes
  • New business development - breaking down the global utility landscape and lead generating extensively to identify a greater range of prospects and exceed the per event sales target
  • Call management - utilising salesforce to build and manage the sales pipeline through detailed call logging, appointment management, prospect progression, and deal closing to meet weekly and monthly sales targets
  • Productivity management - making a minimum of 100 calls per day resulting in 10 effective conversations per day to build a pipeline that delivers 3-5 delegates per campaign week
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess
  • 2:1 degree or higher
  • 1-2 years’ experience in high intensity sales environment for a commercial organisation
  • Strong intellect; with the ability to switch between analytical and creative thinking
  • Insightful problem solving; able to handle objections with confidence and ease
  • Positive mental attitude; a glass-half-full attitude, enjoys rising to challenges and stays focused on solutions
