Data Support Engineer

A leading financial services organisation is looking for a Data Support Engineer (Matillion) to join their growing Data Platform function. This is a hands‑on role focused on keeping core data services stable, reliable, and running efficiently across a large estate.

You’ll work closely with platform, data engineering, and DBA teams, ensuring Matillion pipelines and the wider Snowflake environment remain performant and well‑supported.

The Role

• Maintain and monitor Matillion ETL pipelines
• Support the wider Snowflake data platform
• Resolve platform incidents and performance issues
• Improve observability, monitoring, and automation
• Work with data engineers, DBAs and platform teams
• Follow governance, access and change control processes

What They’re Looking For

• Strong experience supporting Matillion ETL pipelines (essential)
• Exposure to Snowflake or similar data warehouse platforms
• Good SQL skills for troubleshooting
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS preferred)
• Familiarity with monitoring or observability tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, etc.)
• Comfortable in a support/operations role focused on stability and incident management

Package

• Up to £65,000 base salary
• Bonus scheme
