Job summary

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Information Management & Data Directorate for a Data Protection Audit Lead. This is a new post which will play a leading role in shaping the new data protection audit strategy across the force.

With a detailed knowledge of data protection legislation and effective audit methodologies, the successful candidate will apply this skill set to helping define an ambitious audit framework which will provide assurance that the force is meeting its data protection obligations in accordance with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act.

To excel in this role, prospective candidates will be motivated, self‑starters with experience in leading projects or auditing activities and collaborating with staff at various levels across the organisation. You will be confident in providing advice and guidance to key stakeholders following audit activity and overseeing improvements in areas requiring development. Strong analytical skills and an adaptable approach are essential, with the ability to manage competing priorities and consolidate findings into comprehensive reports for senior management.

This unique role will work in close collaboration with the Data Protection Officer to develop the force’s new data protection audit function and will operate alongside the Information Governance Unit and other colleagues within the wider Information Management and Data Directorate.
