Data Platform Manager

Location: London (Hybrid – 2 days per week in office)
Salary: Up to £100,000 + 8% bonus

La Fosse is partnering with a leading organisation in the insurance and financial services sector to appoint a Data Platform Manager to lead the evolution, governance, and optimisation of its enterprise data environment. The role ensures data platforms are secure, scalable, and strategically aligned to deliver trusted insights.

The Role

The Data Platform Manager will oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of enterprise data assets, from ingestion and integration to modelling, quality management, metadata, and consumption. You will work closely with business, technology, and analytics teams to shape data-driven opportunities, mature governance practices, and improve data quality in a complex, federated environment.

This role combines operational stewardship of data platforms with strategic leadership across initiatives including cloud data architecture, data product thinking, self-service analytics, and responsible AI use.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the enterprise data platform and lifecycle, ensuring governance, security, and alignment with data strategy
• Lead and develop the Data Engineering team, providing technical leadership, coaching, and oversight of delivery
• Drive continuous improvement across data architecture, governance, quality, and tooling, modernising the data estate

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in data platform management, data strategy, governance, or data management
• Strong understanding of data management principles, including quality, metadata, and governance
• Knowledge of data architecture, including modelling, flows, and integration patterns
• Hands‑on experience with data warehousing, ETL/ELT, and visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI)
• Experience with Azure‑based platforms (Microsoft Fabric desirable)
• Ability to lead experienced engineering teamsBackground in regulated industries (insurance, gambling/sports betting or financial services) beneficial but not essential
