Data Integration Developer

Job Description: We're seeking a skilled Data Integration Developer to build and maintain efficient system integrations. This role suits someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, working collaboratively, and delivering reliable, scalable solutions that drive real business value.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain robust middleware data integrations between internal systems and external partners, leveraging a range of technologies, protocols, and data formats to ensure seamless interoperability and data flow.
  • Extract and ingest data using multiple methods, including structured database queries, API Calls, and the processing of flat files across various formats, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
  • Apply complex business logic to map, enrich, and transform data sets, preparing them for accurate and efficient consumption by downstream applications and services.
  • Implement secure and reliable mechanisms for transmitting processed data to target systems, utilising appropriate integration patterns and delivery protocols.
  • Develop and maintain standardised, well-documented interfaces for core business systems, ensuring scalability, reusability, and alignment with enterprise architecture principles.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to gather, analyse, and document integration requirements, business processes, and data flows, translating them into effective technical solutions.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of middleware platforms and integration technologies, including testing system updates, supporting infrastructure teams with patching, and ensuring adherence to security and compliance standards.
  • Evaluate and estimate effort for change requests and project deliverables, prioritising tasks effectively in coordination with the wider team to meet deadlines and strategic objectives.
  • Monitor integration services for performance and reliability, proactively identifying opportunities for optimisation and implementing improvements to enhance scalability and efficiency.
  • Provide responsive third-line support for integration services, working closely with the Technology Service Desk and Technology Solutions teams to resolve incidents and maintain service continuity.
  • Design and execute comprehensive test plans, including end-to-end testing of integrations with internal stakeholders and third-party partners, ensuring high-quality deployments and minimal disruption.
  • Prepare detailed cutover plans and actively support cutover activities during system implementations and upgrades, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal impact on business operations.
Required Experience
  • Minimum 2 years' experience of software development, database management or integration development, particularly using C# programming Language.
  • Excellent SQL skills and proficiency in managing data in a multitude of formats - transforming / loading data into databases or processing on to web services or external interfaces.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data integration and management tools such as Azure Logic Apps, API Management, or similar platforms.
  • Experience of using Microsoft Biztalk Server, Forta GoAnywhere or similar middleware platforms (Mulesoft, Lobster, Boomi etc..).
  • Excellent customer focus and confidence in dealing with both internal and external stakeholders - including key customers to the group.
  • Critical thinking and logical, analytical mindset to problem solving.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
