Job Summary

Requirement is for a Data & Analytics Engineer to work within a small Data & Analytics IT team (team size: 3-4) with strong data & analytical technology skills preferably within the financial sector.

Main responsibilities will be the development and implementation of new ETL pipelines and PowerBI platforms, along with the support of existing data & MI systems built using SQL Analysis Services & SQL Reporting Services.

Technology stack will include Informatica Intelligent Cloud Service, Azure Data Analytics Tools (Azure Data Lake Storage, Databricks, Synapse, Factory, PowerBI), Python & SQL databases.

A strong understanding of ETL tools and Azure Data Analytics is ESSENTIAL and strong PowerBI development and administration skills are expected.

The SME will have background and experience in implementing ETL data pipelines, PowerBI platforms, and proven experience in analysing complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that will inform strategic decisions.

Key Work Outputs and Accountabilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL data pipelines to support data integration and migration from various sources to centralized data warehouses.
• Design, develop and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports to visualize key metrics and performance indicators, enabling business stakeholders to make data-driven decisions.
• Support and enhance existing reporting and warehousing infrastructure via SQL Analysis Services data cubes and SQL Reporting Services reports.
• Contribute to the support and continual development of the data landscape to ensure its optimal performance and availability.
• Work closely with business analysts and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into actionable data solutions.
• Communicate complex data insights effectively to non-technical teams and offer analytical support.
• Manage & execute project engagement along all change phases: requirements, functional specifications, technical analysis/design, build, test, and deployment.
• Maintain detailed documentation of the data landscape and provide knowledge transfer to relevant stakeholders and peers when necessary.
• Monitor and ensure data quality by implementing data validation checks and governance processes throughout. Troubleshoot and resolve any data discrepancies or issues that arise.
• Recommend best of the breed solutions to improve SDLC, bring the best industry standards to the bank.
• Adhere to all Group policies and procedures, standards and regulations.
• Update existing technical documentation and produce new as required.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• At least 3 years experience working with Informatica Intelligent Cloud Service as well as 3 years with Azure Data Analytics tools (Synapse, Factory, Databricks, ADLS, Power BI).
• Knowledge of SQL Analysis Services, SQL Reporting Services, Python and advanced Excel would be advantageous.
• Broad IT knowledge, skills and experience - including appropriate tools, processes and policies used in the development space.
• Must be self-motivated, able to work independently and communicate effectively with professional staff and customers throughout the business.
• Accomplished problem-solver with a systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to problem solving who constructively challenges requirements, keeps an open mind and can develop innovative solutions.
• Able to interpret business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Ability to track, manage and document all issues to ensure a successfully delivered solution.
• Effective stakeholder management skills with the ability to build strong engagement with SMEs, business sponsors, project stakeholders and supplier delivery teams.
• Skilled at leveraging excellent written and oral communication skills to communicate effectively with stakeholders and ensure requirements are clear and unambiguous
• Experience of full SDLC with process analysis, design, and implementation; business and technical requirements; problem-solving; and system(s) testing, including UAT and bug fixes.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure to tight deadlines on complex and challenging tasks.
• Ability to apply Bank policies, procedures, standards and regulations to projects.
• Experience with Waterfall and Agile delivery methodologies.
• Knowledge of the T24 Core Banking product and an understanding of BACB's core businesses (Trade Finance, Treasury and Real Estate) would be beneficial.
