Job summary

A leading food retailer in the UK is seeking a Cyber Security Operations Manager to oversee and enhance security operations. Specific skills and capabilities we are looking for:


  • Proven experience in managing cyber security operations within a complex IT environment.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Expertise in incident response and vulnerability management processes.

  • Expertise with Microsoft security technologies (Defender suite, Sentinel).

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Ability to develop and maintain operational security procedures and documentation.

  • Experience in alert tuning and reducing false positives to improve operational efficiency.

  • Ability to define and report meaningful security metrics to demonstrate risk reduction and operational performance.

  • Knowledge of automation techniques for repetitive security tasks (e.g., using SOAR tools or scripting).

  • Knowledge of threat intelligence and proactive threat hunting.


Desirable


  • Familiarity with cloud security operations (Azure and AWS).

  • Understanding of compliance requirements and how they apply to operational security.

  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent.

We understand that success is achieved through our people, and we are searching for an experienced and dynamic Cyber Security Operations Manager to join our Cyber Security team.


The successful candidate will report to the Head of Cyber Security and will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operational security activities that protect Icelands systems and data. This includes managing security monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, and ensuring operational processes are effective and aligned with best practices.


This is a senior role that requires strong leadership skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to work collaboratively across IT and business teams. You will manage a team of security analysts ensuring that threats are identified and mitigated promptly.


This role is based in our Deeside head office, with a minimum of 2 days per week spent working from here.
