Overview

Cyber Security Consultant Reading, 1–2 days on site GBP550–GBP600p/day, IIR35 2–year Contract DV Clearance

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Security Practitioner (SFIA level 4/5) to support a long–term programme in Berkshire. The role requires deep expertise in MoD Security by Design (SbD) and Operational Technology (OT) security, specifically aligned to ISO 62443 standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply MoD SbD principles across system and solution design.
  • Carry out risk assessments and threat modelling to embed security throughout project lifecycles.
  • Provide expertise in OT environments (industrial control systems, SCADA, PLCs, etc.), with specific alignment to ISO 62443.
  • Develop and maintain security documentation, including risk registers and assurance evidence.
  • Work closely with technical teams, architects, and programme stakeholders to ensure security requirements are met.
  • Support audits, accreditation, and compliance activities within a Defence and CNI context.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, ensuring security, resilience, and compliance remain central to all project activities.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Proven track record as a Security Practitioner at SFIA level 4/5.
  • Current, practical experience with MoD SbD and associated risk management frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of OT security and ISO 62443.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in Defence, Government, or Critical National Infrastructure environments.
  • Familiarity with security assurance, accreditation, and governance processes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Must hold current DV clearance.
