Overview
We are offering a rewarding one-year placement as an Undergraduate Cyber Security Analyst at AWE. This role supports the Cyber SOC in protecting AWE assets by detecting and responding to cyber threats, including monitoring traditional networks and cloud environments, threat hunting, incident response, forensics and investigation. The programme provides opportunities to develop self-driven skills, shape monitoring and response approaches, and gain exposure to a range of tooling and real-world challenges.
Responsibilities
- As an Undergraduate Student within the Cyber SOC Team, contribute to the growing area of cyber security and work on tasks related to threat monitoring, detection, and response.
- Support the team in growing and shaping what is monitored and how responses are executed.
Qualifications
- Studying towards a degree in Information Technology, Computer Networks and Security, Cyber Security, Mathematics or similar, with an interest or specialism in cyber security.
- Evidence of a minimum 2:2 in your degree by August 2026.
- Available to join AWE in August 2026.
- Must be a British National, able to start in August 2026, and eligible for security clearance.
- Curious, problem-solvers with integrity, resilience and a collaborative mindset; eager to grow and apply skills to real-world challenges.
- Accepted degree subjects include computer sciences and information technology.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: £23,500.
