Job Description

Note: This is a 7-month fixed-term contract role working part-time 30 hours a week.

Support the delivery of our Eligibility Services contract work via online, telephone, and postal applications. Act as the first point of contact for applicants and system administrator for the NEC system to input and process applications. Process applications, queries, and payments using the computerised NEC interface, ensuring:

  • Professionalism in gathering data
  • Sufficient and accurate data recording
  • Timely recording
  • Liaising with applicants to process information into the Northgate System
  • Undertaking eligibility checks with applicants, seeking information directly from them and utilising additional computerised interfaces for confirmation
  • Understanding legislation and criteria involved in the various eligibility services
  • Compliance with Processing Services Customer Charter when dealing with all calls
  • Completing statistical information as instructed by the Service Manager
  • Supporting system access requests for customers
  • Working as part of the team to achieve targets set by the Service Manager
  • Responding to enquiries from clients, citizens, and colleagues professionally
  • Sharing knowledge to ensure continuity in your absence, with proper handover
Qualifications
  • Experience in contact/processing centre work
  • Experience processing data with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Knowledge of service centre processes, policies, and procedures
  • Excellent computer skills, especially with Google Mail, Google Drive, Google Forms, etc.
  • Strong communication and written skills
  • Proven track record of meeting operational targets
  • Well organized
