Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a Customer Operations Assistant to coordinate daily warehouse operations and provide first-line customer care. This position requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience in warehouse or customer service within apparel logistics is ideal. The role is based in Biggleswade with working hours from Monday to Friday.

Overview

Customer Operations Assistant – £26,000 gross per annum

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate daily warehouse operations: receiving, inspection, storage, picking and dispatch of high‑end garments and accessories.
  • Maintain accurate stock records; perform regular cycle counts and assist with full stocktakes.
  • Prepare and check shipping documentation, labels and quality checks to brand standards.
  • Liaise with suppliers, carriers and brand representatives to resolve discrepancies and schedule deliveries/collections.
  • Provide first‑line customer care: respond to client enquiries (phone/email), update order/status information and escalated issues to senior management when needed.
  • Log and manage returns, repairs and quality claims according to client agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with brand‑specific handling protocols and H&S / COSHH requirements.
  • Use warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic office software to update records and produce reports.
  • Support process improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in warehouse coordination, inventory control or customer service experience with apparel logistics is highly desirable.
  • Strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
  • Confident communicator with professional client‑facing skills.
  • Proficient with WMS or other inventory systems and MS Office (Excel).
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, problem‑solve and remain calm under pressure.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and flexible approach.
