Availability

Availability Window: Days From time To time Sun 18:00:00 – 22:00:00; Tue 18:00:00 – 22:00:00; Thu 09:00:00 – 13:00:00; Sat 08:00:00 – 12:00:00. The table shows the periods of time in the week we would like you to be available to work. We will schedule your contracted hours within these times and provide three weeks notice of exact shifts. We are happy to support flexibility if your available times closely match but are not exactly the advertised times.

Pay and hours

The Customer Delivery Driver rate of pay starts from £13.35 per hour and increases to £14.56 per hour for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location. It is Tesco policy to offer new colleagues a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week, with options to work fewer hours (minimum of 12) if desired.

Responsibilities
  • Delivering your part of the customer shopping trip and keeping the van and trays clean and tidy
  • Leave yards clean and litter-free; wash trays as part of the tray wash process
  • Load the van, check van roadworthiness, and communicate any order changes or substitutions to customers, offering refunds where appropriate
  • Handle products carefully as if they were your own and deliver within the customer’s time slot
  • Call customers before arriving if early and call the store if running 30 or more minutes late
You will need
  • Build relationships with colleagues to promote team spirit and customer focus
  • Be warm and welcoming in interactions with customers and colleagues
  • Adapt quickly to changing customer needs and store changes
  • Be energetic and driven to deliver beyond expectations and balance home and work
  • Share ideas with managers to improve the store for customers
  • Hold a valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (full or automatic only) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points
