The Education Training Collective (Etc.) is a dynamic and forward‑thinking group of colleges and training providers, including Stockton Riverside College, Redcar and Cleveland College, Bede Sixth Form College, NETA Training Group and Innersummit. Together, we deliver high‑quality education and skills training across the Tees Valley.

We are proud to announce that we have recently been awarded an Outstanding rating by Ofsted, highlighting the exceptional support, teaching and opportunities we provide to help students thrive. As we continue to build on this success, there has never been a more exciting time to join our team and make a real difference.

We’re passionate about creating greater opportunities for all of our students and communities—equipping people with the skills to launch their careers, raise aspirations and power the economic growth of our region. ONE Etc—fuelling ambition and driving success in a resurgent Teesside and beyond. If you share our ambition and energy, we’d love to hear from you.

The Education Training Collective is proud to be a strategic partner in one of the Department for Education’s ten Construction Technical Excellence Colleges (CTECs) – the North East CTEC led by Sunderland College. Spearheaded by its pioneering new training facility – the Housing Innovation & Construction Skills Academy (HICSA) – the CTEC will play a central role in boosting the region’s construction skills provision in direct response to local employer needs, co‑developing and delivering high‑quality teaching practice and curricula in construction, leveraging employer engagement and investment, and promoting clear pathways for learners to progress into work in the construction sector.

CTEC Tees Valley Regional Coordinator

As CTEC Tees Valley Regional Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of the CTEC within the Tees Valley, and ensuring its impact reaches far beyond HICSA to the further education provider network. Based at Stockton Riverside College, but liaising closely with the CTEC Regional Director at HICSA in Sunderland, you will act as a “strategic spoke” into the Tees Valley, developing construction skills training, working collaboratively with other colleges, independent training providers, local authorities, and industry partners. In this position, you will develop, lead and contribute to pioneering employer and skills partnerships, and collaborate with providers and other key stakeholders to ensure curricula and specialist facilities continue to evolve to meet future skills needs.

This is initially a 12 month fixed‑term post, with potential to be extended beyond that.

Key responsibilities of this high‑profile regional role will include:

  • Leading the development and implementation of CTEC activity within the Tees Valley, ensuring alignment with the CTEC regional strategy and in liaison with Sunderland College’s Regional Construction Skills Director.
  • Working with curriculum teams to develop and implement a structured, employer‑informed range of programmes that support local and regional construction sector needs.
  • Developing and leading a CTEC Tees Valley Regional Skills Hub stakeholder group to ensure programmes remain responsive to employer, provider, and industry requirements.
  • Being responsible for delivering recruitment and engagement targets in line with the overall CTEC master plan.
  • Supporting strong destination outcomes for learners, ensuring clear progression pathways into employment, apprenticeships, higher education or further training, and clarity around data.
About The Candidate

The CTEC Tees Valley Regional Coordinator will help shape a high‑performing, collaborative construction skills ecosystem within the Tees Valley, ensuring that the CTEC achieves its mission across the North East to raise standards, expand opportunity, and meet the evolving needs of employers and learners across the region. The successful candidate will be a changemaker and have direct experience in and/or a strong understanding of the construction sector. They will also have strong commercial acumen, relationship management and partnership development skills, and a good understanding of further and higher education and training.

Essential Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will have:

  • Demonstrable leadership and management skills, including project management skills.
  • Experience of working in and/or with the construction sector.
  • Experience of successful partnership working, including for example, with colleges and independent training providers, universities, businesses, funders, local or national government.
  • Strong people skills, with the ability to challenge and encourage others, building teams which are courageous and able to take risks to innovate.
