Job description
Job Overview

To deliver high quality, effective and compassionate individualised health care to all critically ill patients and their families. You will work as part of a team supporting and developing colleagues whilst contributing to the efficient and effective operation of the department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work cross‑site across Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital (BNHH) and Royal Hampshire County Hospital (RHCH). Transport is provided.
  • Provide care for patients on both a 9‑bed unit at RHCH and an 18‑bed unit at BNHH.
  • Be available for bank holidays, weekends and night duties.
  • Attend and complete the mandatory Critical Care Foundation Programme (CCFP) and additional bespoke training.
  • Participate in the Advanced Critical Care Practitioner program and supportive outreach services.
  • Support and develop colleagues, contribute to efficient department operations.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
  • Band 5 nurse with excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for critical care.
  • Fluently communicate in English to a standard assessed in the selection process (Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016).
  • Provisional probationary period of six months.
  • Vaccinated against COVID‑19 (recommended) and able to care for patients who are COVID‑positive.
