Overview

Service Care Solutions is delighted to be partnering with a professional Local Authority, based in South Yorkshire, who are looking to appoint an experienced Criminal Litigation Lawyer to their dynamic in‑house legal team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated legal professional who thrives in a varied public‑sector role and is seeking meaningful work within a supportive environment.

Role
  • Position: Criminal Litigation Lawyer
  • Location: Rotherham – hybrid
  • Umbrella Rate: £50 – £55 per hour
  • PAYE Inc Rate: £44.10 – £48.44 per hour
  • Contract Length: 3 months ongoing
Key Responsibilities
  • Drafting pleadings, statements, orders and legal documentation.
  • Handle caseloads involving a range of litigation work, including Criminal Litigation, Civil Litigation, Education law, Employment Law and Licensing.
  • Attend meetings of the Council's Boards and Panels, particularly Sub‑Committees related to Licensing matters and Complaints panels.
Essential Requirements
  • Qualified Solicitor with a valid Practising Certificate and strong knowledge in Criminal Litigation Law.
  • Strong experience in handling a broad Criminal litigation caseload.
  • Public sector experience desirable but not essential.
