Job description

Creative Teaching Assistant

Protocol Education is seeking teaching assistants from creative backgrounds such as acting, drama, or musical fields to work in primary schools in Sutton.

As a teaching assistant, you will work both one-to-one and within a classroom, supporting your peers and students in a positive and engaging environment. Successful candidates will encourage student development, engage through sensory play and interaction, understand social cues and skills, and teach independent living skills to students with special needs such as autism, speech and language difficulties, severe learning disabilities, and physical disabilities.

These schools are looking for teaching assistants who can apply their creative skills within early years and primary settings to maintain an engaging and fulfilling learning experience.

Main Duties:

  1. Engaging students through interactive and creative activities
  2. Helping with sensory integration within the classroom
  3. Working with the teacher to assess pupils' levels and abilities
  4. Ensuring the school's ethos and policies are implemented
  5. Liaising with parents and carers

All pay rates include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This is a temporary position, with potential for permanence later.
