Overview

Location: Plymouth & surrounding areas
Start Date: September 2025
Hours: Full-time or part-time, Monday-Friday (8:30am - 3:30pm)
Pay: £100 - £110 per day (depending on experience)

Teaching Personnel are working closely with secondary schools across Plymouth to recruit enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors for the new academic year.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons to classes across KS3 and KS4 in a range of subjects
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, ensuring a calm and focused environment
  • Support students in completing their work, answering questions where appropriate
  • Follow school policies on safeguarding, behaviour, and attendance
  • Report back to teachers on progress and behaviour of pupils
  • Step into different subject areas and adapt to different school environments with confidence
Qualifications / Skills
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • Ability to engage and motivate young people
  • Confidence in leading groups of students, even outside of your subject expertise
  • Flexibility to work across different schools and year groups
  • Previous experience in education, youth work, or coaching desirable but not essential
  • Degree-level qualification or relevant experience (ideal but not required)
