Are you looking to gain valuable experience in a secondary school setting? Progress Teachers are working to appoint an enthusiastic and adaptable Cover Supervisor to support pupils in a mainstream Leicester secondary school from August 2025.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading the Classroom: Supervise students in the absence of a teacher, keeping lessons on track and maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Following Plans: Deliver lessons using materials and guidance provided by teaching staff, ensuring students stay engaged and supported.
  • Encouraging Good Behaviour: Promote positive conduct in line with the school s behaviour policies.
  • Supporting Learners: Offer assistance to individuals or small groups to help them access and understand lesson content.
  • Team Communication: Share any relevant updates about pupil progress, concerns or incidents with school staff.
  • Admin Duties: Take the register, record attendance, and complete basic reporting tasks as needed.
  • Ongoing Development: Take part in school-led or external CPD to build your confidence and skills.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Previous experience working in an educational setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in different subject areas.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies.
  • x2 satisfactory references
  • A DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain.
